Our calendar does book early but sometimes a cancellation will occur and the opportunity will present itself for a quick turnaround event. We can notify you of this.

Come and explore. Join us on a Tuesday/Sunday night tour. We have tours Tues at 4, 5:30, 7 p.m. by appointment only. Sundays 3, or 4:30, 6 pm. Out of respect for other couples we do not book tours on days with weddings. We want you to explore HG as soon as possible, so we do not schedule tours more than 2 weeks away. Email to arrange your tour time.
All booked couples can come any Tuesday for Re-tour Tuesdays 4 to 7 pm (with notice) to show family, friends or vendors the village.
While we’re positive Grannie makes the best home cooking, the board of health won’t allow us to have her cook here. Our facility is equipped for your certified caterer for serving from an area near your event. We have a choice group of caterers for you to consider but in the end you pick your own. If it is a drop off catering service, then we must provide the serving team for an upcharge. Since we’ve seen caterers send 2 people inexperienced to serve 220 people and take 3 hours , we put together our super serving team. Got 30 min? We get the food out. Just remember if the food isn’t to your taste then please do remember that on their reviews, not ours, we don’t do the food.
We pick some great bartenders (required state licensed) to make your day more fun. Our preferred bartenders like Kathy who mixes drinks and serves up smiles. No non approved alcohol is allowed. Sneaky groomsmen be aware! We use two companies only in 2026. You can select from either custom or more DIY.
We support and encourage dry weddings. Beer & wine events can be accommodated. Shots/neats are not permitted. Alcohol brought onto the premises will be impounded and if found again the person breaking the policy will be asked to leave the festivities. At times an off-duty sheriff is there for the security of the event and to guard the experience for all participants.

While the venue looks old on the outside the amenities are new on the inside.
Yes, a variety of items like lanterns, shepherds hooks, and specialty lighting are available. A thrifty couple can upscale their decor with these included items. We are not a rental company so the items are in used condition and must be cleaned and placed then returned by the end of the booking.
Upgrade decor is also available, our “woodland whimsy” look. Upgrade custom decor services for special displays can be arranged.

HG can be reset for a ceremony/reception, depending on the size of the wedding.
Your investment depends on the variety of packages and options you select. For a general range check our services packages and pricing page. All packages require a non-refundable date retainer fee.
Wedding rehearsals are so much simpler and take very little time. So why not just do it the day of and enjoy your rehearsal evening out? Simplify.
If you still wish to have one: For Two Day Packages: (Fri & Sat) You may use your allotted time for a Friday night rehearsal. Local restaurants are available for catering, but we recommend you enjoy your dinner elsewhere and keep HG for your special day. We keep you in a designated time to make sure you get your beauty rest for the following day.
For One Day Packages: You may have a two-hour rehearsal depending on the day you have booked. Your first option is to do a rehearsal on the day of your wedding (before dressing) but if you prefer then it will be as follows:
Saturday Wedding = Thursday pm. (1st choice of 2 times) or Friday am.
Friday Wedding = Thurs/depending on other bookings. Wednesday pm. or Friday am. 11:00 to Noon.
We do not do Sunday weddings unless by special request and approval.
At 6 months prior to your date IF a Friday rehearsal is available we work that time out for you.
Our preferred list DJ’s know how to & prefer to operate their own gear and sound systems, so we let them. We think it’s best for you to know your own equipment. We cannot “rescue” you on sound. It is an area we are unable to assist with should your system not perform as you hoped.
To create the best experience for you we have a team of vendors that have continually provide reliable service. While you may pick your own, ours are experienced professionals that HG can recommend. At present you must select Bourbons & Brews for alcohol service because we must have a 3 way legitimate license for insurance or Poured to Perfection.
Harris Glen is happy to share that nearby accommodations are available for overnight guests. We will share a list with you upon touring. One of our favs is an 8 room house.

A retainer fee for partial services rendered is necessary before any date is reserved. It is not a deposit and will be non-returnable.
Harris Glen facilities main packages are all from 9am to 10pm. (11 for vendors) County ordinances prohibit music going beyond that time. Micro, Mini, & elopements have limited time ranges.

We are fully, or partially handicap accessible. Yes, there is transport to the parking and two handicap spaces next to the main building.
Candles must be battery operated as no flames are allowed in The Village Venue or Enchanted Cottage, contained flames are permitted in some outdoor areas.
Our facility has been approved by the state of Indiana.
Smoking is permitted only in the designated areas.
A security officer is on hand at almost all events that include drinking or are of a certain number. Smaller weddings are just better behaved right? 🙂 In 2027, we ask for a $200.00 security officer fee when alcohol is present.
All photography shoots are for our booked couples/events alone and are included in any package. Please contact us for scheduling and permission. You may do your engagement photo’s here, or you can even return for a free anniversary session if you were married here.
Advertising/marketing photo shoots: These are by invitation only, conducted by the owner.
Policies to Read Before Touring
We love and adore children especially our grandkids, but we highly recommend weddings as adult only events. Depending on your plans for the day it’s easy for children to run off unattended. Harris Glen is full of natural wonder and dangerous areas. Our ravine, ponds, woods are wonderful but with children can pose a safety issue. Consider having your guest enjoying a stress-free day by having an adult only event.
Should you decide to have children at the event they must be attended by a designated monitor at all times. We label this a “watcher” and we recommend one for you to hire that knows the area. Additional venue staff may be required and associated fee.
No worries, whatever you decide we will help you with how to express to your guests, your wishes for well-behaved children to attend or to have a full-fledged awesome adult only experience.
We love being flexible and helping in extraordinary ways to make your event the best possible. However, we do not negotiate on a few items. We require a day of coordinator for most situations. We provide a month of coordinator in most of our packages. You can select someone else but there will be no discount. Take a look at our preferred vendors. Serve the liquor with our approved licensed bartenders who files a one day permit. (currently, Bourbons & Brews & Poured to Perfection). Lastly, at any time someone is unhappy and a threat is made to one of our staff, that’s the end of the day. We have zero tolerance for threats, yelling, or tantrums. Please don’t make us cancel a wonderful day. Pretty much, we are jolly people, but the above items are going to stick on our must list.
If you selected a two-day rental (Friday, Sat combo) then your rental time on Friday permits setting up ahead. However, if you are booked on a single day agreement you may drop items off early in a designated area if room and no events. This does not mean taking a couple of hours to decorate the night before. You can use remaining rehearsal time to decorate if you are the next wedding. Please do not bring personal items for suites or gear to be left overnight as we can not be responsible for it. If you wish to upgrade then that is available. All items removed the same day as event. Any item left must be removed by Monday of the following week, or it will become the possession of Harris Glen.
